Critical Illness Insurance

UnitedHealthcare Specialty Benefits offers group critical illness insurance, which provides a “living” benefit to an insured diagnosed with one of 10 critical illnesses, including cancer, heart attack and stroke.  Benefits may be used to cover any expenses.

Critical Illness plan options include:

  • Traditional: Fully or partially-paid for by the employer, with optional dependent coverage
  • Base-Buy-up: Employer pays 100 percent of the base plan, and employees may purchase additional benefits
  • Voluntary: Employee-pay-all benefit
Critical Illness insurance products are underwritten by United HealthCare Insurance Company.  All product features may not be available in all states.
